I see where you're coming from in the whole "thinking for the purpose of communication" is concerned, but wouldn't observed and organised processes such as farming basics be more about learning for the sake of knowledge, communication largely put on back burner?

A. Yes. This is a valid point.

Learning and communicating are both byproducts of conceptualisation. As such, neither spawned the other, so it really doesn't matter which came first. Both would have offered an evolutionary advantage.
